With this manual, the authors have tried to capture an operational, useful compendium that is closest the end user needs.

We have preferred to focus on the psychological study, the expandable baton technical-operative work and on providing training exercises aimed at developing the user's full potential. We have not wanted to accumulate or collect a large number of techniques or possible combinations thereof.

The techniques that are included in this book are the necessary ones, the ones that will be really useful to us, the ones that real life situations experience shows us to be basic, and that every professional should know and use fluently and safely.

We want this manual to serve as a reference tool, a guide for daily training, a workbook, a base on which the user can evolve and improve their ongoing training.
