This research, translation and analysis work tells the story of a prominent Soviet military pilot, the only one who was awarded three times with the title of Hero of the Soviet Union during the Great Patriotic War, on his commanders, front-line comrades and the 9th GvIAD on their difficult path from the German invasion to the victory over the Luftwaffe.

In the book, the author dedicated a lot of space to reliably translating the Soviet ace thoughts and carried out a research work and analysis of his victories in combat, supported by Soviet reports, documentation from the archives of the

Russian Federation, the Luftwaffe, the Busdesarchiv, and information from the Romanian and Croatian Air Force during the period of hostilities.

Illustrations based on the memoirs of the Soviet pilot are included, which depart from the fully accepted historiography.
